Senior Digital Marketing Manager - Major Purpose

The Senior Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for leading a team of marketers for a group of lead-generating business websites. This person sets the marketing strategy for those sites and then helps the team achieve quarterly and annual goals for keyword rankings, web traffic, and leads. This person will be responsible for managing and growing a team of mid to high-level digital marketers. This includes SEO, SEM, Social and Email marketers. The position requires a high level of integrity and a dedication to carrying out the company’s core values.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Build an outstanding marketing team over time, one that grows domains into dominant brands
  • Lead and manage a marketing team that includes SEO specialists, SEM and Social Media Marketers
  • Grow team members into outstanding performers
  • Evaluate talent and make recommendations for changes when gaps in personnel exist.
  • Provide monthly, quarterly and annual reports to CMO and board of directors
  • Develop effective marketing strategies across all web properties with the aim of meeting or exceeding quarterly and annual goals for organic traffic and customers.
  • Ability to recognize and diagnose algorithmic fluctuations to websites and come up with actionable items to resolve site issues
  • Funnel tracking of users from search & traffic to becoming a customer for our partners
  • Work with Content Lead and Developer Lead to build more robust, lead-generating websites
  • Ensure all web pages are of high quality
  • Ensure consistency of design, development and content by understanding HTML code and common design trends and practices
  • Ensure all web pages are crawlable by search engines with reduced page-load time, have easy-to-navigate breadcrumbs, have a clean URL structure, use proper indexation tags and have proper pagination.
  • Track visitor traffic/experience/comments/feedback metrics, etc., to determine the effectiveness of new features
  • Oversee multiple paid marketing campaigns.
  • Work with the project manager to coordinate and set priorities for the team.
  • Develop quarterly and annual individual and team KPIs and goals

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Marketing Director in providing rigid QC standards to our websites
  • Stay abreast of the latest news and changes related to SEO and SEM
  • Evaluate team members monthly and annually
  • Attend monthly marketing meetings with company directors and executives

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience managing high-level marketing talent
  • 3-5 years of experience in digital marketing (SEO or SEM)
  • Track record of having built and nurtured growth in successful marketing teams previously
  • Prior experience with leading and guiding multiple teams simultaneously, which includes: ability to strategically delegate action items, coaching team members to promote functional and professional growth, and general performance management coaching.
  • Experience leading multiple teams on the execution and delivery of large sourcing projects
  • Proven ability to combine data from multiple sources and manipulate to analyze and interpret business performance
  • Responsible for a major web property that achieved significant domain growth
  • Have an exceptional and strategic understanding of industry trends - stay updated to the latest news/changes in digital marketing
  • Keen understanding of technical SEO
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills and detail-oriented
  • Ability to identify anomalies found within websites, ad platforms, traffic performance and lead management systems and from those derive preliminary change recommendations
  • Ability to generate monthly channel forecasts for review
  • Experience working with technical SEO tools such as Screaming Frog, Searchmetrics, Google Webmaster Tools and SEMrush
  • Moderate Excel skills
  • Moderate Salesforce knowledge (or a similar CRM)
