Web Development Manager

The Web Development Manager is responsible for supervising and performing quality control of Back End Web Developers and Front End Web Developers/Designers. This position also performs key day-to-day web development for one or more of the company’s major projects. This is a leadership position and will manage two or three designers and developers.

  • Lead, manage and motivate a small team of Back End Web Developers and Front End Developers/designers
  • Maintain support and ensure stability of multiple company lead-generation websites
  • Quality control all coding from developers and designers
  • Write high-level back-end code for project-specific websites
  • Write clean, well-designed code and to document that code according to company processes
  • Execute design and conversion strategies derived from the Senior Marketing Director or Marketing Director
  • Embrace a holistic view of web development for marketing
  • Contribute to idea, tactic and strategy creation related to back-end development
  • Uphold a standard of excellence in Web development


  • Set up servers and backup servers for company websites
  • Be available 24/7 for emergency fixes
  • Contribute to the company’s projects and technologies at a high level
  • Work with or help Web Application Development team when needed


  • Four-year degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or a great reason for not having one
  • At least 3 years’ experience in back end Web development
  • Management experience
  • Demonstrated mastery of PHP
  • Experience with MVC Frameworks (Symfony2, Laravel)
  • Familiarity with command line Unix
  • Familiarity with jQuery, SASS and other micro-frameworks
  • Familiarity with Apache
  • Familiarity with MySQL
  • Familiarity with Node/NPM tools (Gulp, Bower)
  • Version control experience (Git)
  • Knowledge of CSS, HTML, JavaScript and AJAX
  • Familiarity with WordPress
  • Experience using and designing for grid-based CSS Frameworks
  • Familiarity and ability to work with a CMS
  • Knowledge of code design of CMS
  • Time-management skills, ability to meet deadlines consistently
  • Ability to function in a fast-pace, IM-heavy work environment
  • Excellent creative and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work at least a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday, in an office setting
  • Ability to communicate and work collaboratively
  • Ability to transform the ideas of others to functional web design
  • Ability to self-manage, drive initiatives and execute tasks to completion
